CONTRACTORS, CARPENTERS, DIY BUILDERS, do you have left over materials or appliances from a job that you don't need anymore? Please consider donating items for the rebuild.
WE WILL BE ASKING FOR DONATIONS THROUGH THE BUILDING PROCESS AS WE ASSESS OUR NEEDS.
PHASE ONE- Property Cleanup and leveling. On April 22 many
volunteers came to help with the clean-up. Although we
accomplished a significant amount of clean-up on the
property, the big trash dumpster was not delivered and
we were not able to satisfactory clean up the property. It
is an enormous task and cannot be completed in one
day, so we are continuing to clean up the debris by
making trailer dump runs. This is an ongoing process!
PHASE TWO- Foundation
So far, we are looking for donations of concrete and
rebar.
PHASE THREE- Framing
We need lumber, nails, screws and building materials
PHASE FOUR- Electrical and Plumbing
All materials for plumbing and electrical needed. Sinks,
toilet, shower/tub and cabinet for bathroom. Sink,
stove and refrigerator/freezer for the kitchen.
PHASE FIVE- Rooflng, Flooring, Insulation, Walls, Siding, Windows,
Doors, Lighting, etc. are needed.
PHASE SEVEN- Flooring, Tiling, Cabinetry, Installations, etc.
NOTE- On July 6, 2021 The Bootleg fire started just north of us, and 2 days later the fire destroyed 145 acres of Bowen property (2 houses and 80+ acres of Ponderosa Pine and Lodge-pole Pine) The 2 houses included a beautiful Tiny Home that we just finished building and a large studio full of antiques, these along with a camper and other storage buildings belonged to Ayesha and my grandchildren, Benjamin and Alizsha. With that being said, we are now left with thousands and thousands of dead (burned) trees. It's really a sad situation, but we have the lumber here to rebuild. The trees need to be felled and milled. We have a small band-saw mill that can do the job. We need volunteers to come and help with milling the lumber. In return, you would be allowed to take down lots of trees for your own personal use (firewood, posts, mill, etc.)
Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in. Although we don-t have to worry about this area burning again, it would be best to get the trees down before the hot summer months arrive. Thank you!
